Hull will do what it takes to stay up

Our raft didn´t quite make it round the world...
The Hull boys went to the Lake District last week for a few days. We really had good fun out there. We did some outdoor activities like building a raft. We had to race the rafts against each other – we were divided into 4 teams and the staff joined in, which was great. My team build a very good raft – so good we believed it could sail around the world but, never mind, we fell in the water and came second.

If we are honest, when we got the news we were going to the Lake District everybody had hoped it was a wind-up. But once we were there it was hard but very competitive and we enjoyed it.

The manager took us away from the training ground because he felt we needed a break from the outside world. There was a lot of negativity coming from outside, which we didn´t need at the time.

The game against Bolton was a very tough game because of the situation we were in and the opposition were not easy. Bolton play very direct football and they like teams to attack them so they can hit them on the counter attack. That is exactly what happened with the first goal.

We had a corner and Bolton broke and countered quickly and scored. But what was so painful at that moment was that we were very comfortable in our game. We went in at half-time and everybody in the dressing room realised the next 45 minutes were going to decide our future.
I don´t care what it takes – sweat, blood or tears
We didn´t know what the other scores were but we knew we had to win the game if we wanted to have a chance to stay in the Premier League. We played so well in the second half and deserved to score the equaliser. But it was the team spirit that kept us going. If it wasn´t for the Bolton goalkeeper we would have won the game quite easily.

I don´t want people to think we are safe by any means because all we have achieved is that we have our fate in our own hands and we cannot let it slip away. We have safety in our sights and we as a team have to give one more Tigers performance. I don´t care what it takes – sweat, blood or tears – we will do it to secure our Premier League status for another season.

Bolton played well and did their duty by not allowing us to win the match. I would expect the same from Manchester United. We as a team are not worried but at the same time we cannot get carried away. We must stay focused on this final game.

Thanks to all the fans who were at Bolton. You really gave us a push and how I wish we sent you away with the three points.
